Hello from the farm!
I called a farm resident today about sending Zoe to the preschool here tomorrow (Thank you, Jesus! I didn't even think about that! But - AWESEOME!), and he answered the phone like this:
Him: Good Afternoon! I mean, Good Morning! I mean, Happy Saturday!
Me: It's Sunday! (laughing)
Him: Haha! I don't even know what day it is! Happy Sunday!
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. Time is different here. This is SO what I needed.
Yesterday, my sister arrived in the afternoon for an overnight visit. We spent our time walking, playing, chatting, reading, meeting some neighbors, making some friends with some kittens, eating yummy food, and relaxing. Right now, Shasha (my sister) and Zoe are playing pretend, which we are secretly videotaping, while I blog and Scotty prepares grilled chicken sandwiches for us. Next stop will be Shasha's departure, and a playdate for Zoe with our neighbor's little girl, Rosie, who is the same age. Tomorrow? PRESCHOOL! YIPPEE! WHO KNEW?!?! And a few hours to ourselves for the morning.
Yesterday just after Shasha arrived, I took some time out for an appointment with my long-time friend, intuitive, and life coach. She had some great insights into what's been going on with me this last few months of my pregnancy and why I've been having some challenges with keeping others' energies out of my space. She helped clear some of that energetic gunk out for me, and last night and today I've felt much...cleaner. Talking to a mentor with whom I've worked for...7 years now, I guess? Is so reassuring and grounding for me. I'm really glad I made the appointment, and that it was exactly when it was. Perfect.
I'm gunning to get this baby here next week sometime. Wish me luck! Lol... Sherry's arriving on Tuesday, and I really hope she gets here before the baby. I'm looking forward to spending some time with her. But, truthfully? I'm also really looking forward to a couple of days alone with Scotty and Zoe now that we are more settled in here. I'm going to catch up with some old friends (Teri, Star - I'm lookin at you!), call someone on the farm who can help me make my birthing necklace, read a book, get some knitting done, and walk walk walk. I am taking pictures, but haven't wanted to take the time to download them yet. I'll post them soon, though!
On another note, you should totally check out Mama Birth's latest birth story. It's so awesome. It make me laugh out loud, and tears were streaming down my face by the end of it. Wonderful. Enjoy!
