Sorry for the late posting, guys. It's been one helluva ride over here these last 24 hours or so. I will (of course) write more about it in the days/weeks to come, but right now we are adjusting and enjoying our new baby.
Welcome to the world John Christian Shankland, aka "Jack."
Born February 10th at 11:50 pm after 3 hours of early labor, 3 hours of active labor, and about 20 minutes of pushing. He was born into the water of the birth tub. We were a pretty damn fabulous team if you ask me.
10 lbs, 3 oz. We don't know how long yet. 14.5 inch head.
There is much more to the story, including the Gaskin Manuever, a ten minute resuscitation, a two-lobed placenta, and no stitches for me! But that is to come later. End of the story is that we are all happy and healthy and well, and we never had to go to the hospital. Oh happy day!
And we have lots of great photos of Big Sister with her Little Bro, but those are on my phone and I haven't gotten around to offloading them yet. More to come soon!

OHHH He is so beautiful Shelby! I am so happy you had an experience that you were longing for! Can't wait to hear more details & meet your new edition.... the little BOY... I KNEW it! hehe! So happy you get to have a little (big) wonderful princess-y, girly, all about pink Zoe and Mr. Jack, a soon to be aquishing bugs, pirate playing, sword a swinging little boy!

Shelby!!! I lost track of the time! He's here he's here! (Proof that I do need to get back to Facebook, for sure.) hi Jack! WOw. COngratulations.
