Still no baby!
Had to pay the bills today and do some real-life stuff, then had my bi-annual hair cut and color at a salon here in Lawrenceburg that a midwife here recommended. Sherry had a pedicure. I also got to lay on an amethyst bio-mat while my foils were processing. It was a very relaxing afternoon, and I love my hair color and cut! I look all pretty for the baby now. (Hear that baby? Mama's pretty! You can come out now!!)
I came back here to have an appointment with my midwife, and everything looks great. I've gained a total of 7 pounds this pregnancy, most of which has been gained in the last 3 weeks and is water weight. Also, I have to say, today's weight wasn't a great indication of reality because I had run out of my hops tea yesterday (great for water retension gals, and also for high blood pressure I hear, but it tastes like absolute crap), ate very salty foods, and didn't have enough water because we were out all afternoon. Pamela thinks the baby is 9-9.5 pounds, which would amaze me (I thought for sure at least 10-11), but I'll take it! Baby is lower, cervix is squishier, and I'm dialated about one centemeter. Getting closer! Pamela gave the baby a little signpost today in my exam by kind of squishing his or her head down into my pelvis - THIS WAY, BABY! We'll see if that does the trick.
Sherry is approaching the point where she is needing to put a limit on the amount of time she can stay here with us, which is perfectly reasonable and understandable. It has been such a blessing to have so much uninterrupted and intimate time with my best friend, whether or not she is able to be here for the birth. No plane tickets have been purchased yet, but in talking to Pamela today in my appointment, I'm not entirely sure if we'll have anyone come in to replace her. It was hard work to establish a good rhythm with her here, and Pamela suggested that bringing someone else in to our space might not be the best thing at this point. There are enough mommy-type women that we know now on The Farm that she felt they could cover Zoe easily, and I think mostly she's just concerned for my emotional well-being, which I appreciate. We're investigating our options, and will make our decision in the coming days.
Please, if you're worried about us, don't be. We are managing well by now, and are under the best care you could possibly imagine. We're ready to get this show on the road, but have surrendered to whatever our experience is meant to be here. We need hopeful, happy, and calm vibes to be directed out our way these days. We are being watched closely by our midwife, and trust that all is as it should be.
That's all the news for now. We're all sleepy tonight and I think are going to hit the hay early. Thank you so much for all the healthy-mama-healthy-baby-soon thoughts!
Tired ehh? maybe that's a sign! Love your updates! Take a picture of your new hair do! Thinking about you!

Saying prayers that the little one will make an appearance today or very soon.
