Hey y'all!
We've been a bit busy over here...me being a dairy, and Scotty doing just about everything else - with WONDERFUL, AMAZING help from our neighbors (who have been bringing us totally yummy meals every other day), family (who have helped us in too many ways to count), and friends (oh thank the Lord for friends and their smiling faces). But really, big shout out to my man, Scott. He's been amazing.
It has come to my attention that some of you might have been a little alarmed to read the words 'resuscitation' and 'Gaskin Manuever' in my last post, and concerned about how we've been recovering from our rockin' birth experience and adjusting to our new life as a family of four. Although I'm not quite ready to put our birthing day into print, I can truly say that it ended up being just exactly as it needed to be, and I'm overjoyed at the team that we had present. The love and gratitude that we all feel for every person present at Jack's birth (and there ended up being six players in that show aside from the four of us) is overwhelming. If we had chosen any other care provider for Jack's birth, things could have been very, very different and not in a good way. But, as it was - and usually has been - that unshakable gut feeling that The Farm was the only way to go served us all very well.
Jack is a trooper. He's surpassed his birth weight by now, I'm sure. I am recovering well, feeling stronger every day thanks to the efforts of Scott and our support team to keep me 'down' and resting. Scotty is working hard at work, and working hard at home, keeping up his spirits and his energy despite having caught a cold in the last few days. Zoe has caught the same cold, but appears to be on the upswing and should be better tomorrow. She loves having a baby brother and tells me how much she loves him just about every day.
More to come later. I just wanted to let everybody know that we're doing well, and I will at least be updating the blog with more recent pictures very soon.
